Outline of Research at the Start

古代エジプトの文化を体現してきた聖域は、ヘレニズム・ローマ時代に入ってもエジプト社会の中核であり続けた。異なる民族・文化背景をもつ住民たちは、いかにして聖域を共有し、共存したのだろうか。本研究は、主にパピルス文書と碑文史料を手がかりとして、民衆と聖域の関係に注目し、地域住民たちの紐帯と交渉によって促された聖域の文化的・社会的変容の実態を明らかにする。本研究によって古代エジプトの聖域にたいする新たな見方を提示するとともに、ヘレニズムという文化現象を民衆の目線から論じる。
