Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、九州地方の縄文時代前期以降（約7,500～2,700年前）における石器の原料（黒曜石・安山岩などの鉱物資源）の利用と分布の実態を明らかにする。
具体的には、各自治体が発行した発掘調査報告書をもとに、黒曜石および安山岩の出土遺跡に関するデータベースを構築し、自治体に所蔵されている考古資料の基礎的調査を行うとともに、蛍光X線分析を用いて出土黒曜石の元素組成を計測し、産地推定を実施する。
本研究の成果は、縄文人による鉱物資源の取得・加工・流通の実態、さらには東アジア農耕文化の受容過程における社会変化の理解に資する、新たな考古学的知見を提供する。
