Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、基地問題をめぐって米軍との長期間に及ぶ政治的緊張関係が続く沖縄をケース・スタディーとして、冷戦終結後から本格的に実践されている米軍によるソフトパワー戦略が、米軍基地に関わる地元住民を含めたステークホルダーの対米認識に与える影響を考察するとともに、日本国内や沖縄社会の問題として捉われがちな沖縄の基地問題に対し、グアムやアフガニスタン、イラクなどの事例との比較を通じて、アメリカ軍の世界的な基地ネットワークという視座の中で、相対化できるのかという問いを解明することを最終的な目標とする。
