先行研究は主に労働市場に焦点を当てていたが、本研究はこれを超えて、最低賃金が財市場の効率性や国際経済に及ぼす影響を包括的に評価し、現代の高度に相互依存する経済状況における最低金の妥当性を再検討するものである。また、VES型効用関数を用いた新たなモデルを開発し、貿易自由化が財市場への最低賃金政策の効率性に与える影響を解明することを目指す。
