Outline of Research at the Start

The research proposal explores knowledge diplomacy’s role in international relations among Northeast Asian countries, specifically China, Japan, and South Korea, through international higher education, research, and innovation initiatives.

Through in-depth cross-case analysis studies of world-class universities, this study aims to fill a gap in the empirical application of the knowledge diplomacy framework by assessing meso- and micro-level actors in these institutions.

The findings are expected to contribute to international education and diplomacy academic discourse and policy formulation.
