Outline of Research at the Start	研究代表者の大谷はこれまで、人々が都市に残された空き家・空き地で共に手を動かして「場づくり」を行うプロセスで、多様な人々を包摂する社会的共通資本が構築されることに着目した研究を行ってきた。本研究は欧州難民危機以降、住民が急速に多様化した旧東独の都市（ライプツィヒ）と地方（ニーダーラオジッツ）で、空き家・空き地にどのような「共生の場づくり」の活動があり、どのような成果と課題があり、それらの活動と都市政策との間にどのような相互作用があるのかを解き明かす。実際の現場を丹念に追うことから具体的な知見を引き出し、それを学際的に分析することで、他の都市と地方にも応用可能な知見をもたらす。
