Outline of Research at the Start	建築家・木島安史(1937-1992)は、ポストモダニズム期の日本を代表する建築家の一人であり、歴史に対する深い造詣をもつとともに、黎明期の情報技術をいち早く設計に取り入れた人物である。グローバルな視点に根ざしながら、東京と熊本の二拠点で設計活動を展開した木島の仕事は、明治期洋風建築のリノベーションから、CG モデリングに基づくドーム建築の設計にいたるまで、多様かつ先見性に満ちており、現代もなお示唆に富む。本研究は、木島の建築作品の図面資料と言説の収集整理、分析をおこない、木島の建築観と設計手法を明らかとする。また、木島研究を通じてポストモダニズム期の建築史の一断面を描くことを目指す。
