Outline of Research at the Start

タンパク質翻訳を担うリボソームは、リボソームタンパク質とrRNAからなる分子機械であり、それを解体・分解する仕組みはまだ十分に理解されていない。出芽酵母には、翻訳中に停滞したリボソームを標識し、サブユニットへの解離および小サブユニットの分解を誘導する機構18S NRDが存在する。本研究では、リボソーム分解因子の候補として最新に同定されたタンパク質分解関連因子およびrRNA切断関連因子の機能解析を行い、18S NRDの最終段階であるリボソーム小サブユニット分解の分子機構の解明を目的とする。
