Outline of Research at the Start	子宮頸癌に対する標準治療として子宮腔内照射が用いられる。しかし、医学的・解剖学的理由から子宮腔内照射が施行できない患者が散見される。SBRTは、線量集中性を極限まで高めた体外照射法で、腔内照射不適な患者に対しても実施が可能である。大線量を少ない照射回数で投与するSBRTは、理論的に腔内照射と同等の治療効果が期待できる。我々は、腔内照射が不適な子宮頸癌へのSBRTに関する第II相試験を世界で初めて完遂し、優れた安全性と有効性を報告した。この結果を基に、今回は高齢者を対象とした同治療法に関する臨床試験を実施し、高齢な子宮頸癌患者における第二の治療選択肢の確立を目指す。
