Outline of Research at the Start

先進国においても腸管ウイルスによる乳幼児を発端とした保育所や家庭内における二次感染は、社会の生産性の低下に大きく関与しており、その感染制御は公衆衛生上の重要な課題である。現在最も患者数の多いノロウイルスに対する有効な治療薬やワクチンはなく、粘膜抗体の臨床的意義もほとんど不明なままである。本研究では無症候の小児と胃腸炎患者から縦断的に採取した唾液・便検体の粘膜抗体の動態と重症度や家庭内二次感染率など臨床や疫学を包括的に解析し、ノロウイルス感染症における粘膜抗体の臨床的意義を明らかにすることを目指す。本研究の成果は、粘膜抗体をターゲットとする創薬の基盤データに繋がるものとなる。
