Outline of Research at the Start

近年、肝がん患者においては筋肉や体重、脂肪が減少するカヘキシアの発症が病期に関わらずその予後を悪化させる事が報告されたが、肝がんカヘキシア発症・進行のメカニズムや筋肉・脂肪との相互作用についての詳細な機序解明は十分なされていない。申請者はこれまで、肝疾患に伴うサルコペニアの診断、治療、腎機能や脂肪との関係や予後予測等、肝臓と他臓器との相関についての研究成果を複数報告してきた。本検討はこれらを踏まえ、肝硬変に合併するカヘキシアの進行を促進あるいは抑制する因子の解明、及びカヘキシアの病態において、肝臓・筋肉・脂肪組織の臓器間相互ネットワークについての基礎的な機序解明に資する検討を行うことを目指す。
