Outline of Research at the Start

気管支喘息は小児から高齢者まで幅広い年齢層で見られる肺疾患である。近年の治療開発により症状は改善した一方、いまだ患者数は世界的に増加し重症者もいるため、新しい治療が期待されている。発作の原因として飲酒が知られていることから、我々はアルコールを分解する酵素アルデヒド脱水素酵素（ALDH2）に注目する。ALDH2が喘息の増悪にどのように関与するのかを明らかにし、新たな治療につなげることを目標とする。
