Outline of Research at the Start

ファブリー病は約7,000人に1人発症するX連鎖性遺伝性疾患であり、X染色体に存在するα-ガラクトシダーゼの酵素活性が低下し、Gb-3などの糖脂質が、全身、特に腎臓のポドサイトに蓄積して、成人するに従って腎障害を示唆する蛋白尿が出現する。そのため、尿沈渣中の糖脂質が蓄積したポドサイトを検出し、その排出量をモニタリングすることが重要である。治療はGALを補充する酵素補充療法が一般的だが、いつこの治療を開始するかという明確な基準はない。本研究では、ポドサイトの排出量（数）やポドサイトの画像および免疫細胞化学法により形態学的特徴を解析し、酵素補充療法の開始時期の客観的な判定法を確立する。
