Outline of Research at the Start

アトピー性皮膚炎（AD）は慢性的な炎症性皮膚疾患であり、2型炎症が病態の中心にあることが知られている。AD治療選択の最適化に関する重大なアンメット・メディカル・ニーズがあり、新規治療戦略が必要である。そこで本研究では腸内微生物叢と皮膚の関係に着目し、以下の研究項目を設定した。①ヒトのAD患者と健常者の腸内細菌叢の違い②2型炎症マーカーと相関する腸内細菌叢や代謝産物の特徴の解析③マウスモデルを用いた腸―皮膚相関を検証する。本研究によって腸内微生物をターゲットにした新しいADの治療戦略の基礎となるエビデンスの構築とアンメット・メディカル・ニーズの解消につながることが期待される。
