Outline of Research at the Start

膵癌に代表される、免疫低活性状態の癌腫に対する次世代の免疫治療が求められている。申請者は、標的細胞として、２型免疫を司る消化管上皮細胞であるTuft細胞に着目した。予備実験で申請者は、Tuft細胞は制御性T細胞Tregを活性化するサイトカインを分泌し非自己抗原を認識するTregの誘導に関与し、癌組織に浸潤する好中球を含めた抗腫瘍性免疫細胞を抑制している可能性を見出した。したがってTuft細胞が抗腫瘍免疫を抑制する複数の機能を有していると考えられ、本課題ではこの経路を解明することで新たな治療ターゲットとなり得ることを立証することを目標としている。
