Outline of Research at the Start

膵癌をとりまく微小環境に存在する「癌関連線維芽細胞（CAF）」は癌と相互に働き、腫瘍増殖や治療抵抗性に関与している。CAFが細胞老化を起こした状態では、炎症を惹起する物質（SASP：senescene-associated secretary phenotype）を分泌し、それがさらに癌の増殖や浸潤、転移に関与すると考えられる。本研究では、膵癌組織からCAFが癌の増殖と転移に与える影響を、細胞老化に着目して分子メカニズムの解明に取り組む。CAFの老化やSASPの働きを抑えることで、膵癌の進行や薬物治療への抵抗性を防げることが可能であれば、新しい治療法の可能性があると考える。
