Outline of Research at the Start

ウイルス感染後に突然重篤な心不全を起こす劇症型心筋炎は、現状の治療法では死亡率が高く改善が難しい。申請者は、新型コロナ感染症への治療経験から、原因ウイルスを正確に特定することが劇症型心筋炎の治療にも有効だと考えた。そこで心筋組織を対象に、新規の遺伝子解析技術（virome解析、RNAシークエンス）を用いて原因ウイルスと発症メカニズムを解明し、個別化治療の実現と予後改善を目指す。
