Outline of Research at the Start

乏突起神経膠腫(WHO grade 2)は神経膠腫の中では比較的予後が良いが、悪性転化し退形成乏突起神経膠腫(WHO grade 3)となると、セカンドラインの薬物療法がなく、おおよそ15年以内に死に至る。我々はこれまで髄膜腫の石灰化に着目した細胞老化の仕組みを明らかにし、その機序を利用した悪性髄膜腫の治療法を発表してきた。これらの知見を利用し、石灰化の多い乏突起神経膠腫は石灰化の少ない退形成乏突起神経膠腫に比べてどうして増殖しにくいのか？を代謝の面から解明する。
