Outline of Research at the Start

アンギオポエチン様タンパク質ファミリー（ANGPTLs）は血管新生因子であるアンジオポエチンに構造上類似する分泌型タンパク質である。最も新しく発見・分類されたAGPTL8は脂質代謝やエネルギー代謝に関連する淡白であるが、その詳細については不明な点が多く、血管新生や炎症に関連する他のANGPTLsに対して相互的な調節作用を持つことも知られている。本研究はこのANGPTL8のもつ血管新生の調節作用に着目し、AGNPTL8の眼内での発現や局在、作用を解明することを目指す。さらに、主要な失明原因の1つである滲出型（血管新生型）加齢黄斑変性に対する臨床応用の可能性を探る。
