Outline of Research at the Start

う蝕ならびに骨粗鬆症は、世界的に罹患率の高い疾患疾患として広く認識されている。近年、う蝕が進行した症例においても、歯髄の保存を目的としたVital pulp therapy (VPT) が積極的に行われており、VPT後の歯髄は修復象牙質(RD) により保護される。しかしながら、骨粗鬆症がVPT後のRD形成に及ぼす影響も不明確である。そこで本研究では骨粗鬆症がRD形成に及ぼす影響を明らかにするとともに、免疫調整機構の関与についても検証する。そして本研究結果を、骨粗鬆症患者に対して効率的・効果的にRD形成を誘導し歯髄の保護・保存を図るという、骨粗鬆症患者テーラーメイド型VPTの開発へと進展させる。
