Outline of Research at the Start

変形性顎関節症や関節リウマチは、滑膜炎を伴う関節軟骨の破壊を特徴とする関節変性疾患であり、根本的な治療法は確立されていない。これらの関節変性疾患は異なる病因から発症するが、いずれの疾患においても、病態形成の一部に酸化ストレスの関与が示唆されている。本研究は、関節変性疾患に対する天然由来の抗酸化物質の効果を疾患モデル細胞および動物を用いて検証し、副作用の少ない新しい治療薬の可能性を探索することを目的とする。
