Outline of Research at the Start

サイクロデキストラン（CI）は、グルコースが輪のようにつながった環状オリゴ糖である。近年の研究により、CIには糖（スクロース）存在下でもプラーク（歯垢）形成を阻害する効果があることが報告されている。CIを口腔内に応用することで、認知機能や身体機能の低下によりセルフケアが困難になりがちな高齢期におけるプラークコントロールに寄与することが期待される。そこで本研究では、サービス付き高齢者向け住宅の入所者を対象に、CIを含有したマウススプレーの使用が、口腔内細菌叢、口腔衛生状態および歯科疾患リスクに与える影響を検討することを目的とする。
