Outline of Research at the Start

高齢期のwell-beingの実現には「人が価値ある存在となり、その人が価値を置く行動を可能にする能力」である機能的能力（FA）の維持が重要だと言われています。この研究では、高齢者の大規模疫学調査データを使用して、自立および要支援・要介護の各段階におけるFAはどのように異なるか、また高齢で虚弱になってもFAを維持しやすいのはどのような地域環境かを検討します。検証結果に基づき、Healthy Ageingを支える環境整備を促進し、年老いても誰もが自らの価値観に基づいて「できること」「したいこと」を実現できる社会を構築するための重要な知見の提供を目指します。
