Outline of Research at the Start

MASLDの世界的有病率は38.2％であり過去30年で2倍以上に増加している。MASLDのうち約10～20％がMASHに進展するとされ、MASHを背景とした肝硬変・肝癌の発生率が急増しているが、MASHに進展する分岐点の決定因子は不明である。そこで本研究では、線維溶解や細胞の遊走制御の中心的役割を担うsuPARに着目し、suPARレベルが肝線維化進展の分岐点に関わっていると考え、「MASHに進展する運命を決定する因子は何か？」という学術的問いに答えるべく、肝線維化の発症・進展の各フェーズにおけるsuPARの関与と分子メカニズムを明らかにする。
