Outline of Research at the Start

男性ホルモンの低下に伴う多様な症状を呈する加齢男性性腺機能低下症(LOH症候群）は、フレイル等の病因の一つである。LOH症候群の増悪因子としてストレスと生活習慣の乱れが考えられるが、その病態機序は不明な点が多い。視床下部のNucb2/Nesfatin-1神経は、エネルギー代謝調節とストレス応答において重要である。そこで、「ストレスや生活習慣の乱れによるLOH症候群の中枢性成因にNucb2/Nesfatin-1神経が関与している。」との仮説を想起した。本研究は、Nesfatin-1による性腺機能調節機構、ストレスおよび生活習慣による性腺機能障害におけるNesfatin-1神経の役割を解明する。
