Outline of Research at the Start

本研究はネパールの首都圏であるカトマンドゥ盆地を主たる調査地とし、2015年の大地震からの復興過程における村や都市の空間の構築について、南アジア的なウチとソトという世界観から解明することを目的としている。調査地では、儀礼を通じたソトに住まう神霊たちとの交渉によりウチとソトが境界付けられてきた。震災後、その境界は不明瞭化しつつも、ウチとソトの境界は範囲や規定をずらしつつも存続し続けている。そこで、本研究では、災害復興に際し、ウチとソトの境界線が作り出されるモーメントとその形成される場所と空間に着目し、参与観察、インタビュー、行政文書や新聞等の資料収集・分析を組み合わせた民族誌的調査を実施する。
