Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、17～19世紀の琉球・奄美の歴史人口学研究を、「家譜」を基幹資料にすえて推し進めようとするものである。具体的には、沖縄各地に残る家譜資料を用いて、出生・死亡、婚姻と家族などの人口（動態）データ構築の可能性を検証する。
また、人口データと食料生産、自然環境、葬墓制資料など、人口の増減を左右する各種データを融合的に用いた生活環境史の解明を目指す。本研究は「人口復元班」と「人口×生活環境史探索班」の二班体制で推進し、構築した人口動態データは将来的にオープンデータとして公開することも目指しながら、琉球・奄美地域の研究基盤の整備・向上も目的としている。
