Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Postnatal environmental experience has significant effects on brain development. We reported that rat reared in enriched environment after weaning exbibits greater magnitudes and increased synchronized activities of hippocampal gamma oscillations than rats reared in isolated conditions. We found in longer periods, gamma oscillations and synchrony mature also in isolated rats, but much slower than those reared in enriched environment. Moreover, we found that astrocytic spontaneous calcium oscillations have modulatory effects on hippocampal local field potentials in environment-dependent manner.
