Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We undertook the research on three themes. (1) Regarding the relationship between pagoda and tomb, we have clarified that stone works and various signs were built on the tombs of 13th-14th century and assumed that the warrior class was the bearer of the construction based on the wooden houkyouin-tou (with a signature of 1318). (2) Regarding the Cineration ruins, we have pointed out the existence of various cinerary forms based on the comparison between the results of the survey of wooden small-scale gorin-to discovered at Kongoji in Kawachinagano City and the state of cinerary relics at Gangoji. Furthermore, we could clarify one part of the faith in the sub-temple through the survey of gorin-to made of one stone (17c-18c) degenerated in the case of Cineration in Kouyasan. (3) With regard to the destruction of the medieval tombs, we could clarify the aspect of end of the medieval tomb through the analysis of the remaining small Buddhist image and gorin-to made of one stone.
