Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have proposed a laser isotope separation method utilizing molecular alignment and angular dependent ionization. In the present research, we applied a "switched" nano-second laser pulse for N2 alignment. We demonstrated N2 isotope selective ionization for 14N2 and 15N2 gas mixture. We demonstrated theoretically that isotope selective ionization for I79Br and I81Br can be realized with the present approach.
