This resarch aims to examine how Indian women in early 20th entered the public sphere through the Hindi magazines. In the late 19th century, women's magazines first appeared in India and later some magazines gained popularity in Hindi area around the first half of the 20th century. During this period, magazines had changed in various aspects such as its appearance, readers, writers, content and so on. Focusing on the readers' column section, the woman's self-representation and its evaluation can be analyzed and clarified how the modernization over women in the Hindi-speaking area can be mirrored.
