Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is important to have a perspective that extends beyond a narrow range of power politics in order to understand Modern Chinese (early and mid-20th century) political and cultural transformation. This research analyzed not only works of literature but also images represented in Manhua or cartoon magazines published in the era of late Qing, Republican China and monthly Manhua published in the1950s from the perspective of gender analysis as well as a long-term, broader view.
