Outline of Final Research Achievements |
When considering the nirvana image in China, the early Nirvana statue is expressed supine and notice that it changes to the figure with the right side down when it is around the end of the sixth century.Nirvana statue is depicted in the scripture with the right side down.In India, Nirvana statue was imaged with figure with right side down. However, because I did not understand nirvana accurately in China, Nirvana statue was expressed on his back. It is speculated that in the late 6th century, China understood nirvana. And also in China, Nirvana statue began to be expressed in a figure with the right side down. The expression of Nirvana statue in China is presumed to be related to understanding of Nirvana.
