Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present study, “A Comprehensive Table of the Records of the Reassembling of the Shang Dynasty Oracle-Bone Inscriptions,” is a compilation of the results of an investigation into these inscriptions discovered in China in the 13-11th century B.C.E. It includes an analysis of the latest records of the reassembling of approximately 80,000 slices of oracle-bone inscriptions. It also selectively highlights the works of the most representative Shang Dynasty historians - the bearers of the Shang character culture - who produced oracle-bone inscriptions and developed an early document-management system. Overall, the present research offers the latest available information on the Shang Dynasty oracle-bone inscriptions currently available to the scientific community, and provides the most comprehensive compilation and analysis of the previously disconnected research data in the field.
