In countries where dualism of penalty / measure is adopted, the philosophical criticism against the theory of security disposition is not so strong today. However, criticisms against individual security measures, particularly preventive detention and mobile electronic monitoring, now continue. Furthermore, insufficiency of resources (hardware and software) can be pointed out in the operation of these measures.
Regarding the possibility of introducing security dispositions in Japan, it is premature at this stage. On the other hand, in some countries the security disposition is entering a new phase such as countermeasure against terrorism, and it is necessary to pay close attention to this trend. In any case, it is indispensable to consider posibility to each target.
