Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research is to clarify the fact why the Japanese Latin American (mostly Japanese Peruvian) were forced to go to US from their Latin American countries during WWⅡ and how they sought the redress as the proof of a formal apology from the United States Government. So I studied the first source materials at the National Archives in US, Peru and Japan, made interviews toward former Japanese Latin American internees, who reside now in US and Peru, to ask their own family lives in Peru and the life at Crystal City Internment Camp in Texas, and the activists who engaged in seeking redress against the US Government for the Japanese Latin Americans after the Civil Liberties Act was enforced in 1988. Please see my research outcome on my researchmap(https://researchmap.jp/ read0053265)which include the presentation at an academic conference of Nihon Amerikashi Gakkai(The Japanese Association for American History) in 2016 and peer-reviewed articles in 2019.
