Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of the study is to consider certain conditions for voluntary environmental investment by firms. In our model, firms are set to do abatement investments as a first-mover. The results are as follows. If the governments and the firms are strategic complementary and the government subscribes to the firms' claims, the optimal environmental tax is negative and so can improve social welfare.
