Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have tried to explored the present situation of the internationalization process of Japanese SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises), and how their activities affected the performance of local economies and industries in Japan. We have found out that in order to complement their shortage of management resources, they have successfully utilized various supports from external organizations in home country, and corporative as well as reliable partnerships in foreign countries. We have also uncovered that to some extends through their business activities, some of their foreign subsidiaries have acquired appropriate knowledge and skills from foreign operations and it in tern affected the activities of their headquarters’ activities.
