Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Recently, it is necessary to support the health of community elderly in specialized fields other than nursing field. On the other hands, adaptation in a various fields is expected for plant-based care such as horticulture therapy. Therefore, in this research, we propose a new health care system "visiting horticulture" of elderly who combined "visiting nursing" and "horticulture therapy" and tried to verify its effectiveness. As a result, agricultural students conducted garden management activities at the elderly 's home, promoting communication between students and the elderly via plants, making it easier for both to gain empathy. Therefore, visiting gardening activities by agricultural students were considered to be one of the activities that can contribute to the improvement of QOL of elderly people at home.
