Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) often transform to acute myeloid leukemia, but its mechanisms remain almost uncertain. We utilized an MDS-derived cell line and various sublines together with the bone marrow sample from the original MDS patient, and performed whole exome sequencing of each cell line. Consequently, we found several important gene mutations such as CEBPA, NRAS, Histone1H3C (K27M) and TET2. Now we are investigating the role of each gene mutation towards searching for the molecules involved in leukemic transformation of MDS.
