Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In KK-Ay/TaJcl mouse, diabetes mellitus was developed significantly. Creatinine clearance and urinary protein excretion were also increased in KK-Ay/TaJcl mouse compared to control mouse (BALB/cAJcl). Administration of acetazolamide in food admixture reduced the urinary protein excretion. Increased renin activity observed in DM mouse was reduced by acetazolamid. Creatinine clearance was also decreased in DM mouse. These results indicated the renoprotective action of acetazolamid via tubuloglomerular feedback in diabetic nephropathy.
