Outline of Final Research Achievements

A technology of trans-catheter heart valve implantation has been advancing in worldwide as a minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Trans-catheter aortic valve implantation has been performed as a standardized operation in many institutions, while mitral prosthesis implantable using catheter has not well developed. Previously reported mitral stent valve possess stent structures of hooks to hold mitral apparatus to prevent displacement after implantation. In this study, we developed new concept sutureless mitral valve that has circular stent structure to hold mitral leaflet near the mitral annulus both from atrial and ventricular side to reduce injury of subvalvular apparatus after deployment.
