Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Over half of children in childcare institutions are victims of abuse, and there is a considerable number with some sort of disability. This study aimed to reach, in an exploratory way, a simpler and easier method of environmental coordination, in addition to the two methods of environmental coordination traditionally practiced at childcare institutions: "milieu therapy" and the "safety committee method." The study was based on participant observation at childcare institution over a long period of time. Therefore, environmental coordination based on solution-focused brief therapy investigated at the start was modified. Methods using the “signs of safety approach”, as well as methods using “anticipation dialogue”, were studied, and the results suggested effectiveness in all of them.
