Outline of Final Research Achievements

A genomic DNA fragment of Arabidopsis thaliana (~100 kbp, containing 12 genes) was introduced into a photoreceptor mutant of Marchantia polymorpha L, which diverged 400 million years ago. The transformed Marchantia polymorpha recovered the deficiency of photo reception. The result indicates that the M polymorpha still recognizes the Arabidopsis gene.
