Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In plants, inositol pyrophosphates (PP-IPs) have not been studied so far. We aimed to clarify the role of PP-IPs in plant environmental stress responses. We focused on the functional analysis of PP-IPs synthase genes, OsKCS1-6. We identified two kinds of PP-IPs synthase genes, which are homologous to yeast genes, VIP1 and KCS1. We indicated for the first time the possibility that PP-IPs may have a role in abscisic acid response during seed germination.
