Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We focused on brain mast cells to clarify how inflammatory responses promote cerebrovascular diseases and dementia. We revealed the gene expression profiles specific to murine brain mast cells and determined the mechanism by which activated mast cells acquire sensitivity to nerve growth factor. We, furthermore, identified the target molecule of disodium cromoglycate, which was found to suppress histamine release from activated mast cells.
