Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have reported that muscarinic acetylcholine receptors M1 (M1-mAChRs) are functionally expressed in the intracellular membranes of cortical and hippocampal neurons, and facilitate long-term potentiation (LTP) in hippocampal CA1 synapses. In this study, we clarified whether endogenous agonist acetylcholine activates the intracellular M1-mAChRs and regulates hippocampal synaptic plasticity.
