pH-insensitive radical-containing nanoparticle (RNP-O) is a newly synthesized nanoparticle intended to treat oxidative stress related disease. We assessed the effects of RNP-O on atherosclerosis. RNP-O treatment significantly decreased the atherosclerotic lesion area in western diet-fed LDLRKO mice. RNP-O treatment also caused the change of microbiota. RNP-O can be a novel anti-atherogenic candidate through regulation of microbiota.
