Outline of Final Research Achievements

Our ultimate goal is to develop direct reprogramming of fibroblasts toward external urethral sphincter for future regenerative therapy in urinary incontinence. After analysis of specific transcriptional factors for satellite cells in urethral rhabdosphincter, we plan to deliver these genes into fibloblasts for direct reprogramming toward external urethral sphincter. At the beginning of this project, we have to culture and collect satellite cells in urethral rhabdosphincter effectively.
In this study, we established an effective method to culture and collect satellite cells in urethral rhabdosphincter using long-term trypsin incubation.
