Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We analyzed the difference of muscle activity between the gluteus minimus and gluteus medius muscle during gait and Isotonic abduction exercises. The muscle activity pattern during gait of the gluteus minimus was similar to that of the gluteus medius. Furthermore, the muscle activity of gluteus minimus in Osteoarthritis of the hip were higher than healthy subject. The muscle activities of gluteus minimus was higher than gluteus medius during isotonic abduction exercises. Also, it is appropriate to perform loading at 20% of maximum muscle strength. There was no difference in the type of muscle fibers activated by the various loading situation.
